In 1972 Kathleen and Arthur Postle presented their Overbeck collection to the Cambridge City Library in memory of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ressler, Kathleen's parents.  This gift and the library' collection formed the nucleus of the Overbeck Museum.  This collection depends upon the public for tax-deductible gifts of Overbeck artwork and memorabilia.  Each item is appraised, insured, cataloged and made available for public viewing.  It is most appropriate that this distinctive collection be seen in Cambridge City, the home of the Overbecks.
View some of the extensive collection!
As you browse the many pieces on display, you will be amazed at how wide their creative nature was expressed.  You will find pictures showing the family tree of the Overbeck sisters, pottery, paintings, greeting cards, and even the molds used to create the handles for some of their work.

If you really want to get the full effect of what it was like, then you need to visit the museum on Tuesday's from 2-4PM. You will meet a lady that worked with one of the Overbeck sisters, and has helped in the history room or many years.  We are compiling a video documentary that will be ready some time in 2003.  Keep checking back for more information.
